Abstract:
A three-way train wreck has hit the patent system. Tort reform perception impacts
the patent system through both the courts and the legislature, and stealth patent
reform is here now due to new Patent Office Rules and Regulations. This presentation
will provide an overview of recent cases as they affect patentability, legislative
efforts and new rules
Bio: Robert C. Shaddox
Robert Shaddox has litigation experience in a wide range of substantive areas
and forums, with a focus on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair
competition and related intellectual property matters. His experience further includes
infringement and validity analyses and prosecution of patents in nanotechnology,
the mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, chemical composition and software
arts, and trademark, copyright, and foreign patent applications and prosecution,
as well as technology transfer and transactional licensing of patents, copyrights
and trademarks. Robert has also served as an expert witness on patent prosecution and validity.
